Hand Lettering

I was inspired to learn hand lettering after watching an artist friend in college sketch a beautiful piece of typographic art. It seemed effortless — like magic. Turns out, it’s not magic, but regular, intentional practice. Now ten years in, I’ve landed on a few favorite lettering styles that I reach for again and again in projects.

Over the years, I’ve incorporated hand lettering into wedding collateral, product graphics, artwork, and graphic design embellishments. It’s still exciting to find a new way to create a single letterform, or a new medium or tool. I recently took the plunge attempting to combine watercolor painting with hand lettering and was thrilled with the result and excited by the possibilities.

My hand lettering collaborations and commissions include:

  • Wedding place cards

  • Wedding chalkboard wall

  • Wedding seating chart

  • Bridal shower signage

  • Greeting cards

  • Product design for apparel, home items, and gifts

  • Artwork

  • Product inserts and marketing collateral

  • Envelope addressing

Let’s work together! If you’d like to commission a lettering project, please contact me.
